The New York Giants’ Daniel Jones is coming back from injury this season and Giants fans are wondering what the future holds. The G-Men reportedly had designs on trading for Drake Maye during the 2024 NFL Draft, but things did not work out.

Now that the Giants have welcomed Mailk Nabers into the team’s circle, the question is whether or not Jones will be able to get him the football when the going gets tough. Jones spoke recently about the situation, including his thoughts on the Maye trade that didn’t happen.

Jones’ comments came amid an explanation of why the team decided to pass on a quarterback in favor of a receiver. Four way-too-early predictions were released regarding Nabers’ upcoming rookie season.

Now, fans are left to digest just what to expect this upcoming season with the former Duke quarterback spilling the beans.

Giants’ Jones Makes Candid Comments

Jones’ comments were shared by reporter Jordan Raanan on X in regards to his “excitement” for Nabers joining the receivers rotation. Daniel Jones added that he’s been cutting and “doing everything” in rehab so far, and had a blunt assessment of the situation involving the attempted Maye trade.

The Giants finished near the middle of the pack of NFL teams last season with over 3,351 passing yards, even despite Jones’ absence. The team’s secondary statistics of 15 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions also indicate an NFC squad that could not find its rhythm in the red zone when the going got tough.

Giants, Nabers Outlook for 2024

Nabers was one of the most productive and explosive wide receivers in college football during his final season with the Louisiana State Tigers, as he helped his QB Jayden Daniels get drafted number two overall by the Washington Commanders.

Daniels target Brian Thomas Jr. was also drafted with the 23rd pick in the first round in 2024, showcasing the incredible skill of the SEC team’s prospects.

With Nabers on board, the Giants can expect their passing attack to improve in 2024, assuming Jones stays healthy. Jones and the Giants will benefit from the former Duke QB’s running ability in the red zone which will open up the rest of the field and likely improve their passing attack. Nabers and his supporters in New York can expect a 40 to 60 catch season, a welcome addition that could lead to even bigger things in the future.
